Gravitational Waves

Gravitational waves are most basic sense of space time changes occur in Universe. According to Einstein theory of relativity gravitational waves are generated by acceleration of massive objects in cosmos. If a star explodes as a super gravitational waves carry energy away from detonation at speed of light.
If black holes collide they cause these ripples in space time to propagate like ripples across surface of a pond. These ripples provide behavior of gravitational waves changes. These ripples can be detected by using high sensitive sensors as used in LIGO ( Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory).
